About the choir

Founded in 1979 by Harry Christophers, The Sixteen is a UK-based chamber choir and period-instrument orchestra recognised internationally for performances delivered with precision, power and passion. The choir's ongoing 'Choral Pilgrimage' tours UK cathedrals annually, and through its Coro recording label it has released over 200 albums spanning five centuries of sacred and secular repertoire. In 2011 it founded Genesis Sixteen to nurture the next generation of vocal talent.
