Polyphony

Stephen Layton's Cambridge-born ensemble — peerless in Handel, electrifying in Whitacre and Lauridsen.

About the choir

Stephen Layton's chamber ensemble Polyphony was born at Cambridge University and quickly built a reputation as one of the leading professional choirs in the world. The Evening Standard wrote, 'No one performs Handel's Messiah better every year than the choir Polyphony', and the group regularly appears with the world's leading orchestras. Equally famous for contemporary choral music — Eric Whitacre, Morten Lauridsen, Arvo Pärt — the choir has produced multiple Gramophone Award-winning recordings on Hyperion.
