The Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square

America's choir — 360 voices strong, founded 1847, performing at multiple presidential inaugurations.

About the choir

At around 360 voices, The Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square is one of the largest and most famous choirs in the world. Formerly known as the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, it was founded in Salt Lake City in 1847, just a month after Brigham Young's pioneer company arrived in the Salt Lake Valley. A cornerstone of US choral tradition, the choir has performed at several presidential inaugurations including those of Nixon, Reagan, George H. W. Bush, and Trump, and its weekly broadcast 'Music & the Spoken Word' has aired continuously since 1929.
