About the joy bus
The Joy Bus is a postpunk/shoegaze/psychedelic/indie rock band from Austin Tx. The band consists of Preston Maddox(vocals/guitar/sampling), Joshua Vaughn(guitar/bass/keyboards) and Jake McCown(drums, art). The sound is comparable to My Bloody Valentine, Helmet, Drive Like Jehu and At the Drive In. The Joy Bus began in 2006. Jake and Preston were in a band and the drummer quit after joining a prosperity gospel church, so they decided to name the new band The Joy Bus after a church bus from their hometown.
