About Shane Carruth
Shane Carruth is a film-maker from the United States. He wrote, directed, produced, edited and starred both of his films, Primer (2004) and Upstream Color (2013). He is also the composer of original scores for both films. The soundtrack to the debut film Primer is best described as minimalist ambient - it almost entirely lacks rhythm and is based on sessile synthetic string chords and sparse piano echoes. The entire soundtrack is just over 10 minutes long and the film itself runs about an hour and twenty minutes.
