About Shabaka And The Ancestors
Shabaka and the Ancestors is a British jazz band led by Shabaka Hutchings (born in London in 1984). Hutchings is perhaps best known for playing in Pete Wareham’s Melt Yourself Down, then playing in the Sun Ra Arkestra in 2014. On the band's debut album "Wisdom of Elders", released in 2016, Hutchings delves further into the spiritual jazz that originated in part with Sun Ra, with the help of a new band in Johannesburg. The album goes further than his playing in Comet is Coming
