About Shabaka
There are multiple artists known as Shabaka: 1. Shabaka is the primary alias for contemporary British jazz musician Shabaka Hutchings. 2. Shabaka was the Egyptian techno-electronic duo of Omar Kamel & Yanni Giovanos who released شبكة Shabaka in 2003. Having played live instruments for years, they started messing around with some software releases, and some loop libraries, throwing things together, recording speech samples from Egyptian television and Egyptian radio, mixing it all together, and playing live instruments on top of it all.
