Placidus Metsch (1700–1778) was a Bavarian Benedictine monk and organist whose musical profile is closely tied to monastic life at Rott am Inn. Born in Wessobrunn, he entered the Rott community in 1723 and is described in the principal reference notices as serving there as an organist. His surviving footprint is anchored above all in printed organ music issued in mid-18th-century Nuremberg, including the collection Litigiosa digitorum unio (1759)
