About Pale Roses
Pale Roses play neo-folk and not much else. Our music is simplicity made flesh. Mainly acoustic guitar or piano. Sparse arrangements. Bass and percussion sometimes. Very few industrial or ambient passages (not that we’re opposed to that but we’re just not skilled)... We draw inspiration from History (first and second world wars), Mythology (Celtic, Norse or Greek), Fantasy (‘Pale Roses’ was a short story by Michael Moorcock, part of his 'Dancers at the End of Time' cycle) and popular ballads (especially British murder ballads)...
