About Niets Dan Ellende
(Website) Niets dan Ellende (nothing but misery) is a small group of musicians who make songs about the pain, suffering and misery a man creates for himself. The group was founded in 1982 out of a 'mens talk-group', witch was a common phenomenon in the seventies. Three, sometimes four musicians (with guitar, accordion, melodica and percussion) play and party in bars and preferably at peoples homes. Until 1995, the songs where mainly treated smartlaps (Dutch tearjerkers) or music inspired by poets.
