About Matinee Club
Matinee Club, an electropop outfit from London, was formerly known as The Modern. The Modern were signed to a major five album deal with Mercury Records and scored a minor hit with debut single 'Jane Falls Down' in 2004. The follow up single 'Industry' was set to chart in the top twenty in February 2005 when the Official Chart Company disqualified the track due to allegations of chart fixing. This lead to the band losing their record deal and half of their members.
