About Johann Gottfried Gruner
Johann Gottfried Gruner (c. 1700, Oelsnitz - 19th August 1763, Gera) was a German composer and organist. Little is known of his life, except that he was appointed cantor for the city church in Zwickau in 1727. In 1736 he became cantor in Gera, where he stayed for the rest of his life. His son Nathanael Gottfried Gruner succeeded him.
