Johann Georg Holzbogen (born 15. August 1727 in Schwandorf; died 7. September 1775 in Munich) was a German violinist and composer. Nothing is known about Holzbogen's musical education. Since 1751, he has been working as a violinist in the Munich Court Orchestra, first unpaid, then as a chamber virtuoso with Duke Clemens Franz. In 1759, he sent him to Padua to study composition and violin to Giuseppe Tartini. Holzbogen initially moved into a pension after the death of the duke in 1770 and was taken over to the Electoral Court Orchestra in 1771.
