About Jean Yves Labat
Jean Yves Labat, better known as "M. Frog" (for Monsieur Frog) was a French synthesizer player and composer. He performed, recorded, and toured with Todd Rundgren's Utopia, a prog-rock instrumental power quintet of the 1970s fronted by blue-haired rocker, popster, and producer Todd Rundgren. With Rundgren producing, Labat also wrote, recorded, and released an eponymous solo LP featuring psychedelic instrumentals and artfully naive songs that predate the deliberately naive songwriting of Kraftwerk.
