About Jacob Herschel

Heinrich Anton Jacob Herschel (born November 17 or 21, 1734 in Hanover, died 1792 ) was a Hanoverian concert music master and brother of William Herschel. Jacob was the second of ten children of Anna Ilse, née Moritzen, (born 1712/13 in Neustadt/Rbg; died November 19, 1789) and Isaac Herschel (born January 14, 1707 in Hohenziaz, Magdeburg). In March 1756 Jacob sailed to England with his father's orchestra and returned at the end of the year. As a result of the Battle of Hastenbeck in July 1757
