Havana Guns formed in 2006 over a discussion about where to get decent lunch for less than £5 in East London. They released a limited 7" single on the small Cigarette Music label. Even though distribution was limited, they received attention by underground press and late-night indie radio programmes all over the world, for example by Steve Lamacq on BBC Radio 1 and Rodney Bingenheimer on KROQ. Rolling Stone magazine called it "irresistible" and gave it 4 out of 5 stars.
