Friedrich Ludwig Seidel was a German organist, conductor, and composer (born Treuenbrietzen, June 1, 1765; died Charlottenburg, May 5, 1831). He studied with Benda in Berlin, then served as organist of the Marienkirche (from 1792); became asst. conductor at the National Theater in 1801, and was named music director of the royal chapel in 1808 and court Kapellmeister in 1822, being pensioned in 1830. He composed the Singspiel Claudine von Villa Bella
