Carl Friedrich Ebers (born March 25, 1770 in Cassel , died September 9, 1836 in Berlin) was a German composer and conductor who published the world's first Viennese waltzes in print in 1806. Ebers moved to Berlin with his parents at an early age, where he was to embark on a military career. There his musical talent was discovered and after the end of his military service he devoted himself to music. He became known through various compositions (songs, operas) as well as through music lessons.
