Franz Ignaz Kaa (born Offenburg, bap. 27 Oct 1739; died Cologne, 8 May 1818) was a German composer. His musical training included studies with J.A. Hasse and two years in Italy. By 1772 he was evidently living in The Hague. He became Kapellmeister at Cologne Cathedral when J.A. Schmittbaur left in 1777. After the French invaded Cologne in 1794 he was soon dismissed from his job, and for the rest of his life he made his living by giving music lessons and selling instrumental accessories.
