Flaminio Tresti was an Italian composer and organist from Lodi, born around 1560. Treccani states that little is known about his family background, ecclesiastical training, or musical formation; the 1590 Vespertini concentus show that the Tresti family was devoted to the bishop of Lodi, Luigi Taverna, and that Tresti belonged to the Order of the Hermits of St Augustine. His first two madrigal books, however, were signed from Cremona, placing his early printed career in the orbit of the Cremonese madrigal world.
