About Comorian
Comorian is a duo from the Union of the Comoros, an archipelago off the East African coast, near Madagascar. Musicians Soubi and Mmabi were brought together for the occasion by producer Ian Brennan, who was visiting the main Comoros island of Grande Comore. Soul and Mmabi played the ndzenze and the gambussie and they sang. Brennan recorded them. The result was the album We are an island, but we're not alone, released in the Glitterbeat label's 'Hidden Musics' series in the Spring of 2021.
