About Austin Pitre
Austin Pitre (1918 - 1981) was born in Ville Platte, Louisiana and is considered one of the foremost cajun accordionists. Along with his band, the Evangeline Playboys, he recorded many classic cajun dancehall hits. He is best remembered for his highly individual accordian style that often included him playing behind his back.
