About Antonio Teodoro Ortells
Antonio Teodoro Ortells (Rubielos, 1647 – Valencia, 1706) was born in Rubielos (Teruel) and baptised there on 30 March 1647. He entered the Real Colegio-Seminario del Corpus Christi in Valencia as an infantillo in 1657, receiving his musical formation in precisely the institutional context that would later define his career. After serving as chaplain and musician in the Patriarca, he moved through various posts in Valencia before being appointed maestro de capilla of Valencia Cathedral in the later 1670s
