About Francisco de Silos

Francisco de Silos (Tarazona, c. 1555 - Zaragoza, January 30, 1636) was a Spanish composer, master of chapel of the Seo of Zaragoza between 1593-1611 and 1614-1632. Little is known about the origins of Francisco de Silos. The first reliable news we have is from his mastery in the cathedral of Tarazona. It is believed that he was originally from the city for two reasons: at the time, many people named Silos appear in the parish records of the city and there is news of the master chapel of the Cathedral of the Canary Islands
