Band History compiled by Sean and Jane Anarka and Poppy formed in 1982 in Preston, Lancashire, emerging from the local squat scene in Preston. Anarka and Poppy were brought together after Nihilist Insurrection, a previous local band Sean and Jane were in, had split. Anarka and Poppy were comprised mainly of animal rights activists and anarchists - animal rights and anarchism being the subject matter that our songs were solely comprised of. As well as the band
