About Alien Knife Fight
Alien Knife Fight are a band of bassists, who happen to play other things: Monique Ortiz is best-known for her gritty, soulful vocals and 2-string slide bass, and fretless bass playing. She has released several full-length recordings (many of which are collaborations with members of the band Morphine), and has garnered several nominations for best female vocalist in various Boston-based music polls. Brad Houser (The Dead Kenny G's), mans the 8-string bass and baritone saxophone.
