About Zhao Cong
There are two artists that go by the name Zhao Cong. 1. Zhao Cong is an award-winning performer on the Pipa (Chinese lute). Zhao Cong was born to a family of musicians, studied pipa with her mother at very early age, and developed an extraordinary interest in this ancient Chinese instrument in her childhood. At the age of 13, she won first prize in the Jilin Provincial Competition for Traditional Instrumental Music, and at the age of 16, she won second prize in the National Competition.
