About Yuzuko Horigome

Yuzuko Horigome began playing the piano at the age of four and the violin at the age of five with Ryosaku Kubota. In 1975 she studied under Toshiya Eto and graduated from Toho Gakuen School of Music in 1980. In the same year, she became the first Japanese to win first prize at the Queen Elizabeth International Music Competition in Brussels, Belgium. This led her to worldwide acclamation, bringing invitations from all over the world, particularly from European countries, to appear with leading orchestras and to give recitals.
