About Xu Jiangde

Xu Jiangde (许讲德, b. Oct.1938, Beijing), is a Chinese erhu player. She was brought up in an atmosphere of art. In 1950 she joined the army performing troupe for apprenticeship. 1953 was the year she started her performing practice with the erhu fiddle. Five years later she became a soloist. Such erhu classics as March of Brightness and The Moon Reflected on the Second Spring revealed her gift in music. 1961 and 1964 witnessed her nation-wide
