XfrankgrimesX formed in late 2010. Bored one afternoon some friends decided to form a power-violence band along the lines of Charles Bronson and Spazz, after their first practice they played their first house show, this went quite badly but after a good response from the crowd they decided to keep practicing and perfecting their sound. After a few months of practicing and many house shows they recorded a 15 track EP and embarked on a north island tour with Christchurch D-Beat/Hardcore act "Death Throes".
