
About Xavier de Maistre
Xavier De Maistre, born 1973 in the French city of Toulon, is a harpist. He trained first at the conservatoire in his home town, and then went to Paris to complete his studies with Jacqueline Borot and Catherine Michel. In 1995 he was appointed solo harpist with the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, and in 1998 won the Bloomington International Harp Competition. At 25 he became solo harp of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, until 2010 when he became a full time soloist.
