About Winston Churchill
Sir Winston Churchill was the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from 1940 - 1945 and again from 1951 - 1955. Churchill is famous for his command of the British Empire during World War II, and specifically his refusal to surrender to Nazi Germany, as well as his great powers of oratory. Although distinguished before World War II, the war years were doubtless his finest hours, with his execution of the war and his infallible belief in victory even when all seemed lost being vital to the eventual success of the allies.
