
About Waldir Azevedo
Waldir Azevedo was born in Rio de Janeiro on the 27th of January 1923. Passed away on the 21st of Setember 1980. A "choro" pioneer, master of the "cavaquinho", and composer of the choro "Brasileirinho". Waldir was the first composer to place the cavaquinho (tiny 4 string guitar, smaller than a viola) into a leading role with complex solos. Waldir Azevedo composed some 130 songs during his lifetime.
