About Varjo
Varjo was an indie/alternative rock band from Heinola, Finland. Their music was influenced by gothic rock, post-punk and ambient. The band was formed in 1994 by vocalist-guitarist Antti Lautala. After a while the band was joined by guitarist Henry Waldén and bassist Kaide Luukkonen. In search for a fitting dummer the band used a drum machine in its first gigs and records. Their first EP, Ensinäytös, was released independently in 1997 and a couple years later the Futurecords record company was formed around the band.
