About Ugly Mugs
The Ugly Mugs were an experimental rock band that formed in Valencia, Ca between high school friends in 1989 and briefly called Primordial Ooze. Most of their activity took place in and around Santa Cruz, Ca until 1998. They shared a variety of influences between them including Frank Zappa, The Residents, Renaldo and the Loaf, Black Sabbath and a love of metal bands. Originally a five piece they experienced a few line up changes during the years and ended up finally as a three piece of two guitars/bass and keyboards.
