About Tortus
There are at least three bands (and one artist) with this name. From the UK: Initially an experiment with tapes, analogue synths and guitars, Tortus was formed in 1990 in Kingston, UK by Stephen Watkins (programming, bass) and Chris Ovenden (programming, guitar). The duo were soon joined by acoustician Peter Hanes, who introduced the pair to MIDI sequencing. The typical Tortus track, if there could be one, would consist of sequencing technology pushed to breaking point
