About Thomas Vautor

(fl 1600-20). English composer. He served George Villiers, Duke of Buckingham, at Brooksby, Leics., from 1600, and took the Oxford BMus in 1616. His extant madrigal book (1619-20) ranges widely and includes well-known pieces (Weepe mine eyes; Sweet Suffolke owle), some with viol accompaniment.
