About This is the Sun
This is the Sun is an experimental music project from Buffalo, NY. Members Jason Overholt and Francesco Cimato got together during the summer of 2006 writing music along the lines of Mogwai and Explosions in the Sky with just a drum set and some guitar loops. As time passed, their music changed pace. Influenced by artists such as Autechre, Boards of Canada, Arovane, and Mouse on Mars, This is the Sun became more of an indie electronic duo, incorporating programmed melodies and beats with analog instruments (trumpets, guitar, and live drums).
