2001 - 2011 THE WILD FRONTIER is from Sydney’s inner-west, forming in 2001 out of the high school friendship of David Mackie (guitar/vocals) and Christopher Mayes (guitar/vocals). In 2006 THE WILD FRONTIER grew into a five-piece to include: Stephen Mansfield (bass), Leon Spencer (drums) and Philippa Vaughan (keys/vocals). Drawing on influences such as Nick Cave, The Byrds, and Lambchop, THE WILD FRONTIER has developed a sound likened to Beach House, Elvis Perkins and Arcade Fire.
