About The Wards Of Court

The Wards of Court were a harmony quintet from Essex, who might have been fair rivals to the likes of the Equals under other circumstances as a British soul outfit. Their one and only contribution to posterity was a single, "All Night Girl" b/w "How Could You Say One Thing," of which -- too typical of English rock at the time -- the B-side was the greater achievement, a stomping soul selection that could have done great things on the charts and for the group, had it not been overlooked.
