About The Wallets
The Wallets were a highly danceable, and original, outfit originally hailing from the Twin Cities. Formed (I think) in the late 70's, by 1980 they had decamped to New York, and were appearing in the club scene there until around 1983. Thereupon they returned to the Twin Cities until their disbandment in 1989. Their sound is difficult to describe--Steve Kramer's label of "punk polka" is perhaps most apt. The original lineup also included guitar and additional saxophones
