About The Thornbirds
The Thornbirds were hatched in Hollywood, CA when Russ Parrish (vocals, guitar) and Darren Leader (drums) got bored playing disco and wearing afro wigs four nights a week to pay the rent. Armed with an arsenal of cool songs from Russ' 8-track recorder and a whole lot of "sack," they set off to rock LA. After recording and producing their first 5-song CD and playing every two weeks at the Coconut Teaszer to an ever-growing fan base, they were deemed the LA Music Awards Showcase Best Pop Act out of hundreds of bands.
