The Sun and the Moon were Mark Burgess and John Lever of The Chameleons, and Andy Clegg and Andy Whitaker of Music for Aborigines, with both Andys on guitars. The group formed in 1987 out a friendship between Mark and Andy Clegg who had played keyboards with the Chameleons. The setup of the band, two ex-Chameleons playing with two guitarists, begged comparison to the Chameleons, though the band tried to develop its own sound. The Sun and The Moon broke up in April 1989.
