About The Science Group
The Science Group is a project of lyricist/drummer Chris Cutler, composer Stevan Tickmayer, and producer Bob Drake, along with a variety of guest musicians. For their first album, 1999's A Mere Coincidence, guests included Amy Denio on vocals, Fred Frith on guitar, and Claudio Puntin on reed instruments. Tickmayer and Drake handled a wide variety of other insturments for the extremely complex meld of rock, avant-garde, modern-classical, and electronic music. A second album, Spoors, followed in 2003.
