About The Optic Nerve
Coming out of the late eighties garage-rock revival scene of New York City, The Optic Nerve are something of a wonderful enigma. Rather than measuring out bland anti-establishment rants and bursts of pseudo-revolutionary blah-rock, they chose instead to hark back to the days when rock was loving crafted. With a style reminiscent if not derivitive of the Byrds, they stuck to their guns, going so far as to not get signed by any major labels. Their commitment to the style is what seperates them from contemporaries R.
