The Music Machine was an American rock band formed in Los Angeles, CA, in 1966. Fronted by chief songwriter and lead vocalist Sean Bonniwell (died December 20, 2011), the band cultivated a characteristically dark and rebellious image now recognized as a pioneering force in proto-punk. Originally getting together as The Ragamuffins in 1965, they changed their name the next year. Their debut album, (Turn On) The Music Machine, was released in 1966 on the Original Sound label.
