There is more than one band with the name "The Jones." 1) The Jones were a vocal-instrumental rock quartet from Rio de Janeiro who began their career in the early 1960s. They combined several 60s musical styles: surf rock with a dry, twangy guitar sound; easy-listening arrangements, popular internationally at the time; and rock & roll/beat heavily influenced by UK bands like The Beatles and The Hollies. They frequently played covers of international hits, but also Brazilian songs – a mix typical of Brazilian dance and club bands at the time.
