About The Jank
Late in 2004, San Francisco guitarist/songwriter Poopy Lickles became dissatisfied with the limitations of the band he was in and began looking for collaborators to begin a new project. Influences like Queens of the Stone Age, Weezer and Ween were cited for the new band, which would focus on tight instrumentation, melodic songwriting, fun live shows, and no small amount of guitar rock. A Craigslist ad landed bass player Erich Schulz and after much coaxing, a drummer was secured in Poopy’s co-worker, Dena Gerbrecht.
