About The Hellphones
The East Rand: Renowned breeding ground of great South African rock music and home to The Hellphones. Springing from the suburbs of Benoni in early 2005, The Hellphones have achieved a remarkable metamorphosis in just under two years. Going from unknown wannabes in somebody’s back yard, to a national name on the gig circuit with a debut album out and a buzz around them that you have to be careful you don’t shock yourself on. In July 2005 they won the Johannesburg leg of the RBF Emerging Sounds Competition and as a result
