The Electric Chairs (also Electric Chairs; both have appeared on record sleeves) were a punk / post-punk band formed in 1977 in London, United Kingdom, fronted by U.S. born and based singer, Wayne County. Members were Wayne (later Jayne) County (vocals), Greg Van Cook (guitar), Val Haller (bass), J.J. Johnson (drums), Henry Padovani (guitar, 1978-79). The band changed its name to Wayne County & The Electric Chairs in 1978, recorded as Jayne County & The Electric Chairs by 1979
